Corporate Information
The Pikes Peak Institute of Music was incorporated in 2008 as a Colorado nonprofit Corporation. In February of 2009, the Internal Revenue Service recognized the Corporation as 501( c )( 3 ) public charitable organization. Our purpose is to support the student musicians in both the Pikes Peak New Horizons Band and the Pikes Peak Home School Band at the Nazarene Bible College.
The expenses that the Corporation hopes to cover by accepting donations include:
· purchasing music and maintaining a library of such;

· purchasing musical instruments that individuals normally do not buy, such as tympani, keyboards, percussion, loudspeakers and amplifiers;
· creating and maintaining a web-site;
· printing programs and advertising performances;
· making the public aware of the opportunities for learning music;
Our funding comes from individual donors, business donors and charitable foundations. The corporation has no members and is governed by a board of directors selected by the founders and incorporators. Directors serve a two-year term, and their successors are selected by the Board.
