The Pikes Peak New Horizons Band is made up of the Gold Concert Band and the Swingmasters Jazz Band, each of which is under the direction of Mr. Bill Callen. The bands are part of the New Horizons International Music Association.
Both bands rehearse during the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, meeting in the Strickland Chapel and Conference Center on the campus of the Nazarene Bible College. This semester the Gold Band meets at 9:15 A.M. and the Swingmasters Jazz Band meets at 11:30 A.M.
These bands select music that is to be performed by adults with intermediate to advanced playing abilities.
For adults who have limited experience or would like to learn an instrument, small groups are designed so that each student receives personal attention.

Bill Callen holds an M.A. In Music Education. He served in the U.S. Army 5th Division Band for 3 years; was a middle-school band educator for 30 years and a church choir director for 25 years.
